Starting My Journey Through Religion: Theology, Apologetics, & New Testament

I have recently started attending religion courses at Liberty University. Its amazing, I have been a Christian my whole life and never have I understood and realized some of the things that I have been learning over the last few months. With that, I have decided to record my journey, process, ideas and information obtained as I journey through these religious courses. To obtain the knowledge of God is an infinite quest, reserved for all of humanity and I am excited to dive into the absolute truths regarding the matter. This semester I am taking Apologetics, Theology, and a New Testament Survey class. Over the next 8 weeks I will be sharing these subjects with you and try to my best to interpret the information as God would like it to be interpreted.  Week 1 of Theology : The word Theology is derived from two latin words: Theous (meaning God) and Logos (meaning word.) Fairytales & Free Will

I think that one of the largest misconceptions about God is that, if you believe in Him all of your dreams will come true. That, in a sense there is this magic genie up in the sky that nods his head and fulfills all of your desires instantly and without question. -Just sign here on the dotted line. More than that, I think people often turn from God after having this false expectation that everything in life relies solely on His power and will. That financial struggle, physical pain, loss, and sorrow are all a direct result of God and that there is nothing you can do to change it. I'm here to say that God does not grant wishes. If He did, I believe I would own a Harley. God did however, grant us free will. There in lies the problem. Free will allows us to have the opportunity to sin. Without sin there would be no pain. However, without free will there is no choice. We would be little army men that God took off of a shelf. Figures, moved and manipulated without any comprehension as
